This historic 1815 farmhouse was struggling with drafty, rotting single-pane windows—beautiful in appearance but terrible for energy efficiency. To preserve the home’s character, Eby Exteriors installed 22 custom Marvin reverse-cottage windows designed to match the original 1800s style with a larger top sash and smaller bottom sash. Because the home had settled over time, many openings weren’t square, requiring careful modification along with interior frame, sill, and exterior plaster repairs.
The team recreated the original decorative mouldings for an authentic finish. The project also included resetting shutters with new hardware, updating barn windows, and adding two new storm doors.
