Smithton Inn Siding, Roofing, Windows, Doors – Ephrata, PA – AWARD WINNING PROJECT
- Siding – James Hardie fiber cement staggered shakes in Khaki Brown; Azek PVC rake boards, window trim, various moldings
- Roofing – GAF Timberline architectural shingles in Hickory; upper flat section done in epdm (rubber)
- Windows – Andersen Woodwright units, white wood interior and white composite exterior (Shutters are painted composite
- Doors – Therma Tru fiberglass (painted)
Our clients purchased the Historic Smithton Inn (18th century) when it was in a state of disrepair. The Innkeepers gave us the privilege of helping restore it to its former glory. We helped them achieve their goals by using fiber-cement siding and PVC trim, along with new architectural shingles, new wood windows (notice the beautiful new composite shutters as well), and several new doors. We also helped to greatly improve energy efficiency by adding new “spray-in” insulation when we were replacing the siding and new house wrap as well. We worked hard with them to find just the right products to maintain the “old” look, but that are also durable and require little or no maintenance for many years to come!
